Happy “Everything-is-pumpkin-flavored” season! As we approach cooler weather and holidays, there are a few things to remember. Please make sure your dancer has something to put on after class other than their leo and tights. These kids work hard in class and come out sweaty. It is important to keep those muscles warm, and we don’t want anyone catching cold. If school is closed, the studio might be open. If you miss class, please speak with your child’s teacher about an appropriate make-up class. We will do our best to post any changes in the schedule to our Facebook page. If you prefer to be contacted by text or e-mail please let us know.
We are now offering Tai Chi and Tae Kwon Do classes! They are on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The cost is $25 per month or $5 per class. For more information, please call John at (417) 254-3527.
If you are interested in joining the spring competition team, there is information available at the front desk. Students are required to log their class hours and have it signed by their teacher. Hour logs will be available starting Oct. 1st. There will be an informational meeting on the 23rd at 5:30.
Nutcracker choreography is in full swing! It is imperative to speak with your teachers if you are not going to be in the show. The recital fee is $65 per student ($45 for a second student). This fee includes a new pair of tights. All costumes will be borrowed and must be returned after the final performance. Most of these costumes are brand new. If costumes are not returned, you will be charged.
I know many people are concerned about having two shows in one day. The performances are just an hour and a half long. There will be more than enough time to eat, nap, or go to the parade. In fact, we will be participating in the parade! If you would like to be a part of our float, let us know. Have a closet full of costumes that you don’t know what to do with? You can donate them to the studio! There are many times that we need just one more of something. If you don’t want to keep them, please consider
donating them. Thank you!
The Elite Team will be performing in Branson on the 17th. If you are interested in going to the show, please speak with Leah about purchasing tickets. The team will be opening for “The Spirit of the Dance”. There will also be a local performance on Nov. 7th.
Speaking of Nov 7th...The studio is hosting a craft fair! The fair is for crafters only (we will host a vendor
fair after the new year). If you or someone you know has a crafty side, please let us know! We are offering a discount on booth space for current studio parents. We also need items for the silent auction (gift cards, services, gift baskets). All proceeds will go directly towards The Nutcracker (civic center fees, advertising, programs, backdrops). It is very expensive to put on a show. Thank you in advance for all your help.We will have a Halloween lock-in on the 30th. This is open to all students. Anyone 6 or under must be accompanied by an adult.
